Diaries, letters, financial and farm records, inventories, insurance policies, estate papers, ephemera, and photographs of George Willmarth, his son, Asa, Asa's son, Fred L., and Fred L.'s daughter, Susan Etta, successive owners of a farm in Addison, Vt.; also papers of Amos Bush Willmarth, cousin of Fred L., other family members, and John Burhart, a hired hand on the farm for many years. Also includes records of the Town of Addison reflecting George, Asa, and William's involvement in town affairs, and an account book (1859-1865) kept by Middlebury publishers Mead and Fuller, with a few accounts (1913-1914) possibly kept by a member of the Wright family.

Five generations of a family occupying a farm in Addison, Vt., from the 1780s to 1990. Family members include George Willmarth (1792-1878), who kept sheep and cattle and probably built many of the buildings on the farm. He served as clerk of Addison School District No. 4 (ca. 1840-1877) and in the state legislature (1850-1851). In 1877 he rented land to Jonas Smith for a steam sawmill and gristmill.
